M45 - Pleiades
14th February 2007
Setup very quickly and imaged for over 2 hours. Unfortunately the clouds rolled over half way through the exposure run and I only managed 11 frames of 4mins each.
Not that bothered as its my best image of M45 yet.
21st November 2006
This was a very successful night.
Using PHD Guiding, the Orion 80ED and 350D, I managed 4 x 10min exposures.
This totals 40mins of faint light entering the camera, the longest I have managed. I think if I can capture more frames, 2 - 5mins would even out the noise a bit more.
I have also made my own light box to capture flats. It seemed to work very well and the frame is very even.
9th October 2006
6 x 4mins, ISO 400, Orion ED80 scope.
31st October 2006
Tried auto guiding tonight and this time it worked great. I manages a single frame of 5 minutes exposure to show the areas of nebula.
The blue nebula surrounds some of the stars in M45.

Just one frame, unguided (1 min)
17th November 2005 (almost full moon)

M45 is an amazing bright cluster and can be seen with the naked eye of around 5 bright close stars. I think i have managed to capture a slight hint of the nebula around this cluster. |

I like the shape and light halo around the brighter stars in this image. |
